Default fix it ticket for exhaust

So i was in Santa Monica today and got pulled over for my exhaust sc300 no resanators or mufflers, when he pulled me over the first thing he said was "whatcha got under their?" i replied idk i bought the car this way, he didnt crawl under the car or anything but made me pop the hood and was bothering about my cone filter as well, he ended up just writing me a fix it ticket for just my exhaust thank god because i lost my stock airbox, anyways my dillemma is i have some really great looking magnaflow tips welded on and i dont want to put mufflers their because i want to keep that look, so i think what i want to do is weld some mufflers where the resanators used to be or just one single muffler before the y split, i just want the sound to be close to stock, have the nice tips and just run an electronic cutout later on down the road any input is apreciated

Do it put the mufflers where they where originally intended. You can't really put mufflers under the seat area because you would bottom out and possibly cause another leak. Especially if you car is lowered or you want to lower it. If you can get a smaller muffler and resese it back as far as possible go for it.

Just add 2 small round mufflers to where the resonators used to be.

i didn't believe you needed the resonator and mufflers even in CA. they are for sound dampening, not emissions right?

Yep they don't effect emissions at all. I think it has to do with the 95dB rule for cars where no exhaust can be louder than 95dB other wise you could get a ticket for it. Not just California but all across the US as well.
