Default My shifter idea

im sick of the dildomatic! i was sitting in my car pondering ideas and i decided im going to try to make a ball out of wood and position it so when you push down on the shifter, its like pushing the button so you can shift out of park into drive and ect. i'll have to make a long oval for the screws to fit in, then probably cover it so it wont be wiggling around and look crappy..anyone think this will work but me? haha i'll post some pics when i get started

anyone know what "color" of wood in the stock trim?

I'm not sure if these are direct fit into the Lexus, but many auto companies sell aftermarket a/t shifters.

i looked and looked and looked but i couldnt find any, so im making one..out of wood! its going tobe one of those shifters you push down on the actual wood part to move it from park to reverse, drive to park drive to reverse ect. instead of having a button on top

youll have to run the overdrive to a seperate switch. Oh and make sure it works because the lock feature if you dont make it properly will lock your ignition and wont let you release your key. Just some crap i went through. I got an aftermarket auto shifter with o/d option.

What about your overdrive? The ECT is on a separate switch.

You should look into a gated shifter. More options and better looking.

Aliga has a complete one for $350.

Don't bother looking for other shift ***** for this car's stock. There's like...one. The Levoc one is overpriced and full of chrome. I don't like it and I don't think a lot of people do.

Check into it though. I don't think its worth the cost.

like i said i wont be putting a switch for my overdrive because i never turn it off..it will be rounded like the 98+ shifter and will operate by pushing it straight down to go between gears

ok you see the top of the auto shifter without the cover on it? it is a rod that gets pushed down, so a shift **** that you push down that can push the rod will work. so do it and it will be nice!
