Seen as your car is auto, it might actually work as is.

I didn't see any of this myself, so I can't verify, that's just what I was told.

Thats transmission is from a 96+ soarer. The crossmember is also different on the 96+ sc'c so if you have a pre 96 sc the one joewitafro will drop right in. If you have a 96+ the one you have will drop right in.

Well, It looks as though I will need to modify a bit.

I would trade transmissions but time is of the essence right now as I need the car done by the end of the month for a big show in Vegas.

It'll work
What you have now is preferable over the other setup IMO and if what I was told was correct, you may not need to worry about the tunnel at all. If your car had been stick, it wouldn't work as is, but being auto, you have a chance.
You can confirm if the remote shift does come up through the auto hole.

Let me know how this goes, I have the same trans that you have and its going into a 92 as well. Not sure how long before yours goes in but mine will prolly be another week or two.

My car is 95 (manual), I wish to replace the tranny with the 92 model (the swan type), I understand the shifter assembly is different, so can I swap out the current shifter assembly I have and use it with the 92 tranny ?

Anyone who can help me is greatly appreciated !
