wow theres more out there then i thought! im thinking about setting foot with this route for my other sc. im just not sure on how to do it, its gonna be alot of work and im not even sure if ill be able to finish it. i wanted to have a ITB 2jzge and then a total weight reduction with a kaaz 2way lsd. [applying for drift means] think ill be able to spool the wheels enough?

Screw ITBs for NA 2JZ setup.

See if you can come up with an ITB setup with boost, ala RB26. Has it ever been done? I can't imagine the throttle response, especially on the 1J.

thats not possible, thats stupid. it would need a plenum around it anyways it would basically be the same thing as not having it, itb is for N/A not turbo. if someone wants ITB's then they are building an all motor 2jzge, i mean with ITB might as well balance ur engine like a crazy mad man and build it to rev to 10K. get it balanced to 1/100th of a gram or if they are really good balance it to 1/1000th of a gram then rev like a beast!

How are ITBs on a FI motor stupid or not possible? It has been the foundation of the RB26 forever. SRs can be equipped with ITBs boosted. You gain all the responsiveness of ITBs along with boost. You do reach efficiency limits when boost gets way up there, but for most folks, there is an advantage. Don't be puss. Build a plenum!

Yes actually it is possible, and has been done several times...Toms manufactures a bolt on plenum specifically for boosted applications on the Toyota 4AGE 20v, and the 3SGTE...and the results are amazing..although the price of the plenum isnt cheap, the overall outcome if calculated and setup properly can be highly beneficial.


And has also been done on someother not so common...say a BMW 535I M30 with ITB's...

I think you get the point...I have also seen it done on a Z06 Vette twin turbo, and some other various Hondas...Its a very good idea if you have the time, knowledge and money

Not possible? Did you see my post where I posted a link to a turbo 2JZ with ITBs? ITBs on a NA 2J are sweet, but the best example I have seen yet is on this turbo'd IS300. Since I saw this, I want turbo + ITBs. Oh yeah, 600rwhp at 16psi!!

i guess theres always the boosted vs na poeple. everyone has their needs haha but as for I, i have to do some more reseach on the fuel management and a whole bunch of other ish!

I don't know much about ITB's, but would they actually help turbos spool faster?

My Turbo 2jz's rev limit is set to 10K. I thought about ITB's, read a lot about it and decided against it. Anyway, motor still revs like a bike
Like said above ITB's are good for NA where you can tune runners with the velocity stacks. I don't know about them helping turbos to spool up faster but I know header design does.
