Thanks a lot!

My supra starter did this at Tx2k10 meet. I thought I was stuck. It just clicked one time and that's it..I ended up hitting the key 4 times in a row and it started, and it has started 10-15 times since then with no issues.

If your a member of supraforums here's Curts pricing on a starter.
28100-46140-84 Reman Starter List 222.37 Cost 165.00 + 30.00 Core Charge

I'd just like to says thanks for the great info guys!

My car was clicking over & over & sometimes wouldn't start at all. I found this topic, ordered the kit from eBay last week, by Saturday I took off the starter added new contact pieces & now its start everytime with ease. Perfection!

I am assuming you are trying to remove the starter on a SC300. I had to put my car on a lift to remove one of the starter bolts and use a long extension with a swivel head. I could not do it while on jack stands because I did not have the leverage to break the bolt loose.

I jacked my SC300 up placed it on stands, open the hood for good lighting, came from the bottom to loosen the bottom bolt(s) with a ratchet & a couple of extensions & a swivel. I removed front driver side tire which gave me room & easier time to get to top starter bolt(s). Attack it sort of diagonal which gives you a straight shot to the starter.

I was greasy as ever & it took about an hour but I got it out of there with no directions or nothing. Install was way easier cause I just did the reverse about 15 mins.

SC300 is pretty easy to remove the starter, just maneuver it down through the suspension and you're good. The 2JZ and 7M motors are the easiest i've ever changed a starter on out of all the cars I've worked on. I'm so thankful I didn't buy an SC4

About to do this right now. Called Elmhurst Toyota in Chicago for the contacts ( found them on the forums here somewhere). $27.56 is what I paid for both kits for both sides. I spoke to Curt, told him what I needed, he shipped them that day, arrived at my house the very next day. Awesome!

All I can say is Thanks. Thanks to CL and thanks to the members who took the time to put all this knowledge together! Especially for people like me. I usually just creep the forums for info lol.

Late reply, but for future reference to others.. I just did this over the past weekend on my SC and I ordered a 1998 Toyota Supra N/A kit for $18 and it works great.
