Not really many dead giveaways, but the trannies aren't much different, anyway. They hold around the same amount of power.

Really? Ive heard different. I heard the sc300 A/T holds 325whp
The soarer with a cooler dose 450whp.
(yes i know tq is the measurement and not hp but everyone speaks in HP, so when in rome...)

Ive got a single (no clue what size yet) and stock fuel, I want to know whats a safe level to boost so I can/may troubleshoot?

I really wouldn't worry about it, spare 1jz trans are dirt cheap, i bought one for $150 .. btw on my 95 SC300 the NA trans would not even work with the 1jz, all the plugs where differnt.

Not bad. Dosent matter. As soon as I do a complete check-up on the car im going r154.

The guy who did this swap must have been froggy...
single turbo
fmic
wastegate
dp
fpr
are the only mods I can see in plain view. No wideband. No piggy back/ecu. (maybe a map?) Its hard not knowing whats done. I dont even want to get on it because I dont know what the boost is set at, couldnt find a trace of a mbc... Im in for some work.

why did you even buy it if you didnt know whats in it and what you are getting yourself into? maybe you got lucky and the car is good. if you dont know what the car has as far as mods and the seller doesnt tell you its shady and i wouldnt have even bought the car...unless it was a crackhead deal.

btw the 1jz runs off a map sensor anyways.

I bought the car from a dealership for a price that was too good to pass up. they bought it from an auction, somone must have gotten thier car impounded... hey my luck.

Lol. Me too. I really hate the thought of taking it to a junkyard, so I'm keeping mine until I find someone who needs it.
