5 speed conversion for 98 sc300?

5 spd conversion i've done but we installed a gte motor at same time so we used an aem technically you should use the manual ecu as the maps will vary a bit from auto to manual not saying you can't use it (auto ecu) but i
d personally prefer to use the manual whic h would have the proper fuel maps and timing

you would not be able to use the 5 speed ecu on urs.
1st: you have the VVTi engine which never came with the 5 speed to begin with.
2nd: if you put on a 5 speed ecu from either 92-97 sc's then ur engine will not run proporly or at all due to a totally different wiring harness.
3rd: it will probobly not even plug in because of the different wiring harness.
4th:if you stay with the auto ECU then your check engine light will always be on for transmission sollinois codes because they are missing ( no more auto trans) lol.

For what year SC? They vary. I did Baoser's auto to 5spd on his 97 and it ran fine on the stock auto ECU. But if you want to get the best performance out of it I'd suggest the swapping to the manual ECU. But like I said before, its still do-able. Good luck.
