Default Clutch pedal diagram?

By any chance does anyone have a diagram on how the clutch pedal is suppose to be? When I replaced my clutch my mechanic told me that the pedal was always engaged and was most likely the reason for my clutch to have been burnt. He told me to replace the spring or bushings on the pedal assembly. So before going to the auto store I want to know what I am talking about. Thanks in advance.

i dunno if there is one on ours, maybe you just rest your foot on the pedal to heavy, or you can adjust your push rod for the pedal

Maybe I do rest my foot on it... I try to keep my foot of the pedal when not shifting gears. I'll see what happens.

wait before you go shopping. Did your mechanic adjust the clutch pedal at all for pedal play? If not then it might just need an adjustment of the pedal because right now it sounds like the pedal might be set too tight. Other causes might be air in the hydralic lines, bad pilot bearing (probably replaced during clutch replacement) or a damaged pressure plate. Thats only worse case scenario, ask the mechanic if anything seemed out of the ordinary

Here is a diagram outlining adjustment procedures. I checked on my car, it looks a little tight but you should be able to adjust it without removing any of the dash parts. Hope this helps a bit

Thanks StiCk3! I'll go look at it tonight. The mechanic did mention that the pedal looked to be out of place. I just don't see how it could have moved 2-3 inches to the left. When I do press down the clutch it makes a squeaking sound that drives me insane.

My clutch pedal is doing the EXACT same thing, except that it's too far out so I slip the clutch unintentionally during shifts. There is about 1-1.5 in. of extra travel before the clutch disengages. You're going to have to loosen up your pedal a bit while i have to tighten mine down. I'm going to service my car tomorrow and this is on the list of things to service, post up your results when you can!

If there is left and right movement in the pedal itself you need to double check the bushings where the pedal and the bracket meet. The ones on my brake pedal went out and there as about 2-3 inches of play side to side.
