Post Should've could've would've.... regreting your turbo route??

So you've had your 1jz or na-t or 2jz-gte for a few month/year now, what do you think? would you do it all over again? or would you go another route? Why or why not?

i would definitely do it again (na-t) but i would have bought larger injectors from the get go (instead of the 525's) as well as a 67mm instead of the 61. and i'm only at about 1k miles on turbo. definitely addictive. i am glad i went w/ the aem from the start as i probably would have upgraded to it sooner or later.

1jz was great, i'd love to do it again but if money allows, I'm definitely going with a 2j.

I debated a long time between going 1JZ or NA-T. Even though NA-T would have been cheaper and gotten me more power, I opted for the 1JZ just for stock performance without too many problems to worry about. Everyone is going to have questions to ask about such a big investment in their car.

to answer your question

na-t route is okay , it works and its cost effective . i put down right around 500 rwhp on 550 inj and map ecu piggyback , but if i had to do it again (which btw i plan to after the winter) i would have gone standalone , the haltech e11 , 650 inj , tt shortblock for better compression ( i dont really like the 2.5 mm headgasket for off boost driving is abit sluggish)

or would have listened to the inner voice and man up and swap in a 2j gte singled with 650 or 720cc inj and full standalone tuned to perfection and call it a day

what ever you do take your time and read .. between , club lex, supra forums and club na-t and is300.net , all the info you need to make a decision from piggybacks ecus , turbos etc is there

My car is so fast it scares me, and I am na-t It is a lot of fun, but I would never do it on a DD.

I personally don't see the need for a GTE and the extra money - pretty sure in the 1/4 my car can hang with most out there...

Your car is WAY sexy, Honestly if i can afford it, i would buy it and save the trouble on turboing my car. Too bad money is too big of an issue

I have a GTE 6 speed car and I think I would do an NA-t with something other than a w58. My car is great but the NAt is cheaper for more power and the GE motor is cheap as hell to replace.

Well apologies from my end. I completely misunderstood your first post.I thought that this thread was asking the question if you regretted going turbo in the first place. Pointless reply deleted. Go ahead, just keep the hits coming...I deserve it.
