Default Sc300 future buyer

Alright yesterday I went shopping around for cars with my father. I have been interested in the SC 300 for quite some time. Although Don't know great prices on them now I drove two yesterday one was horrible (97) but it seemed like a shady dealer and another was from a larger delearship and still had some problems both dealers are asking 6000 for stock 95 and 97.

Now the larger dealer ship was begging me to like buy it off the lot that day for a price of 3999. Although I want to do a large amount of things to this car including 2Jz-GTE swap since I cannot afford a MKIV.

I was wondering what kind of deals I could possible get here? Around the 7000 dollar range give or take a 1000 or so. Preferrably cars already swapped with the 2JZ-GTE or 1JZ-GTE.

Another option is I would be saving 3000-4000 dollars compared to what I thought I was going to pay so. My father the fixes will cost around 500-600 dollars. So that leaves me with 2500-3500 to spend.

Was wondering how much a 2JZ-GTE swap or a 1JZ-GTE cost I know 2JZ is from MKIV and other is from MKIII. My Father has both of these cars MKIII has a 7M engine in it though. I understand I would have to get: Engine, Tranny, Wiring Harness and other things just wondering if anyone around here would know ball park prices for whole package swaps

If these questions are incredibly stupid and are posted everywhere sorry just looking for some help.

you should search, these topics are covered a lot.

You will be able to find a 1jz swapped car for 7000 if you look hard enough, but the car itself wont be a 95 or 97, it will probably be a 92-93.

A 2jz-gte swap costs around 5000$ for the engine swap alone, if you want the tranny swap as well, it will be another 4000-5000$, thats including all parts and labour i believe.

1jz swap is cheaper and you can actually buy the swap and do it yourself. you will be spending around 1500$ (i think) for the engine and another 500 for maintenance parts like gaskets, timing belt, water pump, engine mounts and such, but by doingi it yourself it can be done at a low price.

Ah ok thanks

Can I ask you would I need the tranny swap to run the 2Jz-GTE good? As in does the GTE run fit good and doesnt cause any big bugs between the systems?

The 1JZ would I need to also swap the Tranny? If so can you ballpark that?
