Default power steering bearing noise? (not typical PS noise)

I'm very familiar with a typical power steering noise/whine.

What I have is almost a metal on metal sound. Like a bearing going out etc... At first I thought it was the AC compressor but after getting my head down there and really listening it sounds like it's coming from the PS pump.

Anyone else have similar problems? I'll get an audio file shortly and post it.

I had read something about changing the bearing on the shaft when replacing a PS pulley. Could this be an issue? Anyway i can change the bearings on the PS pulley?

The PS works like a champ as well as the AC.
