Default rear end noise

I was out driving the other day and i decided to get on it a little bit leaving a light and it started making a grinding noise commin from under the back seat. It only grinds in first gear under hard acceleration, as soon as it shifts to second it is fine under wide open throttle. Does anyone know what this is from?? maybe a new diff??? i dirve a 1992 lexus sc300 auto. thanks

Drain you diff fluid and inspect it for shavings/metal chips.

ahh id definitly check your drvetrain, if its under your rear seats should be your differential or right before it on the cup licks with the drive shaft... but only on first gear? o_O

yea that is what i dont get??? i can mash on the gas in anyother gear and it sounds normal, but if i do it in first gear it grinds. I was thinking it was the diff because when i first bought it it would spin the tires all they way through first but now maybe when it goes to send power to the other wheel the gear is stripped or something causing it not to lock in the wheel.
