evileagle, the boot isn't hitting the support bar any more so no need. it's tranny related now but i think i'm going to live with it for now.

WOW
awesome job Craaaazzy
nice
how the the shifting feel? very close to the stock W58?

I like the mod, and may even do this
tough I must admit it looks a bit funny
the 4th gear looks like my stock neutral
(debating if I should extend it or not )

dumdum (lol), the shift is very nice mainly due to the bushings from marlin. my only issue is 3rd gear but that's because of the tranny itself, not the install. i'm looking forward to upping the boost...if i ever get around to putting miles on my car that is.

update on speedometer reading on cluster. since i used the W58 speedo in the r154, my speedometer was 1 mph off actual and this is only noticeable when doing 80+, verified by GPS. i've also got tt rims and stock tt size tires.

since those sifter parts you used are no longer avilable,
Is there anyone making extended shifter kits now?
I know vipsoarer mention he would, not sure if he ever got around to it
(and I know theres one 240sz swap shop selling it, AND using vipsoarer's pics, so I'm not gonna buy from them)
Any other sources for the extended shifter?

thanks

just use the 92-93' w58 shifter, it puts it in there, then all you have to do is the slight bend if you are worried about the 1in off look which most people wont notice but you.

Congratulations on the install. This is a great upgrade if you are going to be boosting on the SC. I hear these can handle numbers of up to 700hp over the 4-500hp on the W58. Definitely a less cost effective alternative to the V160.

I would, but my car has the 94 W58
I don't think the earlier 92-93 W58 swan necks are easy to come by (but I'll look around)
my other option is to try and use the
W58 housing and w58 shifter, and only putting in 2 bolts
but will that be enough to keep it secure?
if there are gaps would fulid get out?

94 w58... I think that one is still in the air as far as my reading goes wheter it works. I read a 95 didnt, and a 92/93 did. I kind of thought it would because the changes in tails etc were at 95, so thought 94 would be more like 92/93. You may have the one you need right there, esp since you referred to the housing like you did.

Also the earlier shifters... maybe look for aftermarket/short shifter....

The housing, if your housing isnt like the 92/93 i think your out of luck on this anyway... but it needs to seal. And im sure it can be made to, but with my measurements it may be actually too far back unless you use the straight shifter... but if you have that then you dont have the right housing to use.

My $.02 is to get a proper w58 shifter somehow, or the mk3 swan shifter, and bend if needed (i think mk3 works the same but just leans in toward driver a tad)

the mkiii shifter is an inch shorter, meaning it will be more towards the front of the car and will not clear the center support if not modified. it will also be off center, towards the driver's side.

i haven't researched to what other tranny's fit the 1/2jz other than the r154, w58, and v160/1. i do know there are other R and W series tranny's as well but don't know the length or if they fit the 1/2jz's.

the HPF Feramic is great. very easy to drive on the street and holds everything i've thrown at it so far. as the for the spec pp, not sure which stage it is but it's whatever comes w/ the kit. this is definitely easier to drive than the stage3+ with the super clamp option i had for the w58.
