SC300 hard shift problem after valve cover gasket change
I had my valve cover gasket changed last week and since then I'm experiencing a hard shift problem when changing gear. The car jolts forward when shifting and it is not as smooth as it was before. Needless to say it is very annoying.
The car is a 1992 SC300 with automatic transmission.
The transmission fluid seems fine. Does anyone have an idea what might have gotten broken in the process?

check the cable adjustment on the kick down cable that goes to thr tranny. I know guys tighten it to make their car shift just like you are describing.
