Default 1JZ flywheel and 7M clutch

I started doing alittle reserch and wanted to see if anyone here knows the best place to buy a 1JZ flywheel and 7m clutch. The 7m clutch needs to be able to handel around 500 horse. I know that 365 motorsport sells the fly wheel and i was going to go throug Titan motorsports to buy the stage two clutch. ANy advice or leads would be greatly appreciated.

don't buy an RPS max, you can get the 1jzgte flywheel from driftmotion, horsepower freaks, toyota, etc.

find the flywheel for cheap on supra forums or supra mania. buy an ACT clutch. 6 puck unsprung. its rough to drive but dang does take the abuse. exedy stuff is good too.

btw cluthes are rates in the torque they can hold and not in the hp

hypothetically, two vehicles make 500hp, say like an international turbo diesel and a supra. the supra will have about 400ish torque(give or take), the truck will have 2000. the clutches on the two will be COMPLETELY different.

new time someone tells you their clutch can hold 500hp tell them they are retarded

Well, I went with the RPS MAX clutch stage 3 cuz everything I have read on SF is this is the clutch that can take the abuse day in day out and is still decently driveable. I read what you wrote on lemmiewinks writeup and took it to heart joewitafro, but im gonna give it a shot, just too many good things have been said about it. Mine is rated to 700+ ft. lbs, and isn't cheap. Consensus was that ACT don't hold too long if you are pushing any serious power. Clutchmasters got a pretty decent rating too for the most part. There are also alot of various combinations of plates and discs, sprung and unsprung hubs, etc, that people have put together from various brands and had good results with. Go to SupraForums.com and type in clutches in MKIII section. You will get all the review and input you need.

I found a brand new Spec 2+ clutch that handles 460tq (should be enough to make 500hp on a JZ motor) for $270 on the Supraforums classifieds. There was a new Stage 3+ model on the forums for $400 at the same time, but I couldn't justify the extra money since I would not be exceeding that torque level.

Regardless, you should be able to find something cost effective on the Supraforums classifieds. Look in the MK3 section. It gets very little action, but the products will be consistent with what you need, since those are primarily R154 guys. If you are on a budget, I would sit tight and find a deal on the Supraforums classifieds.

Definately normal fact about driveshafts. They are not transferable since input shafts are different. Get a mk3 supra turbo (they have r154's)front half of the driveshaft and mate it with your w58 rear half driveshaft and it would work. You can use your w58 master cyl. It is the slave cyl that is different (w58 push type, r154 pull type) Source a mk3 front half drive shaft on supraforums or call around the junkyards (look at car-parts.com to locate possible junkyard sales for example)

Need more help guys, has anyone used the stock flywheel? I was talking to my dad and we think it could possibly work. The only thing we are hung up on if we drill new holes ad thred them, is that going to set off the balance of the flywheel?
