Default Serpentine belt slipped off after wipeout

I'm not sure if the belt slipping caused the wipeout, because i really wasn't flooring it on the interstate onramp, but i lost traction in 3rd going 40ish then counter-steered too much and slid sideways for 30 ft or so.

I continued and literally drove 7 miles without my serpentine belt, the engine light kicking on around 5. When i pulled into a friends apartment complex steam was pouring out, my radiator reservoir was empty and there was fluid all over the engine.

The strange thing is the entire belt looked intact when we inspected it. Tonight after work i was going to go over with a friend and have us try to re-attach the belt, refill the radiator, and jump it and baby it back home on the backroads (is that what most of you would do?) because my battery light kicked on as well, I knew the battery was going but i'm pretty sure this event probably pushed it over the edge.

As long as you didn't over heat the engine to bad and warp or crack the block you should be fine. The serpentine belt is not as bad as having a timing belt slip. The battery light is on cause driving with no alternator drained the battery.

if you turned the car off before it stopped running entirely, there is a good chance it will crank back up. now if you damaged anything is all dependent on how long it was running bone dry.
