Who has the best price for SC300 motor mounts?
I suppose the TRD mounts are a consideration but--I don't have the advantage of having a pair of the shorter Supra engine aluminum brackets(the JDM engine came with only one side---a shorter one that is) --- so what is the best drop-in replacement mount to use on a set of the original 1992 SC300 brackets?
..and do any of you know a place to buy them for less than Dealer prices?
My drivers side is torn half-way through, the passenger side torn 75%.
The car has 172K on it-- so I'm assuming this is just a normal service life limit. We were careful when pulling the engine to make sure we did not strain the mounts with any bending motion...but.
Thanks!

go to a local sport store and buy 6 hockey pucks. they are usually about $1 a piece. then go to a hardware store and buy some long bolts. drill a hole in the middle of each puck and use 3 pucks per side. this will cost you under 15 bucks and and an hour of work total. they are stiffer then stock too

Hockey pucks?
Whereas this might work for a track car, the isolation from the road and all harmonics throughout the rev range from the drivetrain will transmit right into the cars interior with this approach.
This is a stock SC300 that I use as a daily driver and I want the comfort and quiet of the engineered engine mounting.
This is not a boulevard racer.
Besides-- with the hockey pucks how are you going to capture the top bolt and the bottom bolt that go into the sub-frame and the aluminum bracket that attaches to the engine block?
Running one long through-bolt through the center of all the pucks will essentially give you no vibration isolation.

My car isn't a stock daily driver. I'd say get on SupraForums and go to the Champion Toyota section, they give nice discounts to members. Same with Elmhurst Toyota. I think Champion has them a few bucks cheaper. As I remember they were around $55 a side.

if toyota knew that people took their NA, high compression, 2jz-ge and turboed them then the engineers would turn over in their graves. what about replacing the suspension bushings with polyurethane? what about doing daizen rack bushings?
if we use your logic then there would be no aftermarket, everyone would go to the dealer to buy stock oem parts, and innovation and ingenuity would be dead.
just because you never happened to think of a clever way to improve the performance of something AND save money doesnt mean its the wrong way of doing it.
go home and think about it for a while

have a good day sir
go around the 240 community and ask about modifying stock motor mounts using 3m window caulk. when it dries its the best bang for the buck mount you can get.
