Default Options for rebuild of stock 1JZ twins

What options are available for the stock 1JZ twin turbos? My twins are running fine but the max boost has dropped a little over the last year.

I'm trying to weigh options that are available in the interim before going single. I've read about rebuilding of the stock twins with steel impellers for boost up to the 20psi range. Is this true? If so, who does it?

Thanks!

spend $150-$200 for another set of twins on SupraForums and then you can boost your till they go out and you've got another working set. I think its the cheapest option if thats what you're going for.

Actually, my twins boost fine and quick. 13PSI no problem!

I'm just interested in option for rebuild to get more boost (similar to the 2JZ-gte twins) before going through the entire expense of going single.

Your gonna hate me for this

read this thread. Some realy interesting stuff going on with the stock 2JZ-GTE turbos. Something like the internals of a GT28 series turbo inside the stockers....mid 500hp all day.

kinda pricey but real sleeper

Interesting.

On the stock 2JZ-GTE sequential twins, 400whp looks pretty standard at ~18-20ish PSI. It's well known that the sequential 2JZ twins are much more reliable and boost more than the 1JZ twins (CT12A vs. CT12B sequential). The boost limit of the CT12A is much less than the CT12B sequential.

So, who rebuilds the 1JZ CT12As to work more like CT12Bs? Is it possible to have the CT12As rebuit to boost up to CT12Bs? Replace the ceramic wheels with steel wheels?

The GT28 hybrid setup is very cool. But at that price point, I might was well go single.

I have a question.

Will CT12Bs bolt in where our 1JZ CT12As are? Are they compatible? I know the 2JZ-GTE manifold will not bolt up, but what about just the turbos?
