Idle A/C problem
Hello Guys and Gals,
I just bought a nice 1997 SC400 that is near perfection, just needs some attention on the body but that's all.
The car runs and handles perfectly my only complain is with the idle of the car, here is the scenario;
When the engine is dead cold the car wont start without a little push to the gas pedal. Once the engine starts it will need about 5 seconds of 800 to 1000 rpms to stabilize the engine so that it wont stall. Also at idle the A/C, even with the engine warm, the compressor wont turn on. I have to push the gas pedal just enough so that you can feel the compressor kicking in.
PS: Are those ebay timming belt kits any good?
Thanks

i would stick with an oem timing belt or a greddy one.
not an area you want to go cheap on (theyre not very expensive)
sounds like you need a tuneup, check all the grounds, use premium gas,
you didn't say how many miles it has, depending on the miles i would change the fuel filter. when it gets gunky it could cause the first problem (and its just good maintenance anyways)

miles
It does have 116,000!!!
I will check all that, including change of plugs, wires, etc...
I will do that and see if the first problem solves out, thank's.
