My first exhaust system was the HKS Hi-power canisters. I had them to do a 3" pipe. I live in GA and they charged $150. Wasn't really that bad

You just end up losing flow - which is the initial point of having the work done. If I can't get mandrel, I would wait until a time where I could

eg. ROAD TRIP!!

Well yes he would, but would the gain outweigh the financial impact of buying something that doesn't yield the best results?

For me, the answer is no. I would wait until I could have it done with mandrel bends. But that's just me. The OP may have the time and money to do it crushed for now and then mandrel when he finds somewhere to do it...

lol, when i couldnt get mandrel bent on my 240, i just up'd the size of the pipe some on traditional bend. then again it only cost me like 120 bucks (texas).
if its cheap enough then i would rock it till you need more flow.

5 shops have quoted me 400+ for dual piping catback, and when i asked if that was with manderel bends, they laughed at me.
I really hate the labor increase in the north east.
One so called performance shop wanted 500 to do manderel. ridiculous!

for my sc4.. from the cat back... 2.5 inch and a tip (i changed to single exhaust) it costed 156 including everything.. piping, labor, exhaust, hangers etc.

for my prelude it was 120 for piping, labor and hangers.. for 2.5 inch piping

of course it was crush bend but.. i was fine with that.. u still get better air flow than stock :]
