Default has everyone given up on 40mph vibration?

Ive read and read and read about so many people w/ the 40mph beating that they get at the hands of the SC400 when the torque converter attempts to lock i guess...but I've yet to hear a solution.

It really really starts to get irritating and makes me dread traffic slowing down and making me hang at 40mph.

I was just talking to a good friend of mine who's a gear head and he was saying his 95 T-Bird did the identical thing but it wasn't a physical problem it was something computer related.

for someone not familiar: it feels like front wheel drive wheel hop whenever slowly or normally accelerating through 40 - 50 mph range. It deeply vibrates the whole car until you either eventually get past 50 mph or floor it and make it down shift then when it shifts to OD at high speeds it's fine.

Anyway...If its the torque converter itself then great I'll get the lextreme one but from what ive gathered thats not even a guaranteed fix.

any answer or ray of hope would be great at this point!
