Default power steering fluid change?

the color of it looks like dark brown. but when i like tap some of it off on the side it seems to drip a lil red. when i'm driving around, or at a idle, there's a faint small high pitch whining sound. and some kinda belt wurring away thats like loose or sumtin making a fluttering noise which i asked about in another thread. well here's a pic of the color. u think i need to change?

Hard to say just by that, as I have seen PS (or ATF fluid) look like that after taking it out. Also depends on the type of fluid use (I personally like Mobil 1 ATF for PS fluid).

What you should do is take a few drops of it and drop it on a paper towel and see if it blots evenly and doesn't take to long to do so, should blot with in a second or so, or let's just say it needs to blot period.

Also the smell should generally still have some sweetness to it.

Probably some old Dexron II ATF fluid. The Mobil 1 ATF fluid works quite well, I have seen other SC owners using the stuff.
