Default Trust SMIC install.

DIRECT BOLT ON MY BUTT!

I had to cut my IC pipes, cut the fender plastics and remove my fog light, and massage various plastic pieces.

I think the old one had some flow issues. Anyone see a fin that isn't bent on the stocker?

Shameless plug because I actually bought a "brand name" Item.

Took her out for a test run and it's a big improvement. At least I think so...

I had the boost set @ 20lbs earlier today. And I went out tonight and was hitting almost 25lbs! SO I'm thinking theres a significant flow gain! Feels strong! Once I get the electric exhaust cutout I think I'll be close to my 500 RWHP goal. Then I'm done throwing money at this thing for awhile!

its not that big of a deal. a little modification is always necessary just about with every mod you do. when was the last time you actually used your foglights? lol.

that intercooler is really enough to cool air efficiently for your power goals? its a nice upgrade over stock never the less.

With the stocker I made 480 @ the wheels. Guys on the supra forums have pushed 700WHP with greddy SMIC's. So my 500 HP goal seems reasonable I think.

Yes it was for the mounts on the side of the IC.... The upper mount I had to make a small hole in the air box area and install a nut & Bolt. I have the stocker for sale if your interested.

That doesn't mean that it is safe....... Flow is a big concern of the I/C yes, but don't forget it's main objective, to cool the intake charge because of the intense pressurization that it undergoes through the compressor housing. (alot of people think its because the turbo is hot, it has little relevance to what is actually going on.) If your I/C can flow the air for 700 hp, that doesn't mean that its reducing the AIT's enough to reduce knock and detonation. The question that was asked had nothing to do with can it handle it, it was about if it was safe or not, a very relevant question.

This is a valid point. Are you monitoring Intake Air Temps? How many degrees above ambient were you seeing with the Supra SMIC? How many degrees above ambient are you seeing with the Trust unit?
