Need advice and input about XERD hearders and Blitz Exhaust...
So I have been wanting to up the power a bit on my SC and add an exhaust for quite some time now. It is just my daily driver so I don't need much.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with XERD headers and the Blitz Dual Exhaust ?
Is it loud ? too loud ?
Good performance ?
Does it delete anything ?
I want to still be able to pass smog. Do the headers delete anything ? If I just use the axle-back dual Blitz exhaust, will it keep my CAT intact ?
Or is there another option (brand) that you think is better and why ?
Borla ?
Apexi?
Looking for something cheap (but good quality still), again this is just for my daily.

I'm in the same boat as you, I am trying to work on my car and still pass emissions/smog. I was thinking about keeping my stock exhaust system tucked away, and going all out on the car; I live in AZ and being in Iraq I can't find any good information on the state laws.

That's what I figured about the axle-back one. But I am still not sure if the headers with get rid of anything I need smog wise.
I am thinking it won't since it should attach to the CAT and midpipe and then to the exhaust. I also see the connections for the O2 still available on the XERD ones too.

Even though the o2 sensors are still there, the header will still increase emissions since they probably have bigger diameter tubes. I mean if you pass the visual all you have to worry about is the smog numbers as it will surely increase with a performance header. If you're car is tuned/maintained correctly, your car may have a higher chance to pass smog with the header. You can always put your stock exhaust manifold back when you have to do a smog check.

The bad news: The Xerd headers DO delete your precat. So technically you will fail the visual portion of the smog test ....That is IF it were to actually be noticed.
But i think you would still have a good shot at passing with good O2 sensors and assuming its well tuned in general, and if you were to keep the main cat and EGR system in place.
As was already mentioned as well, Just keep the original exhaust mani and precat in case you need to temporarily swap it back in.

www.mvpmotorsports.com They sell a great header for less than 500 dollars, its the exact same things as the XERD header.
