I'm new on here and just wanted to intruduce myself, My name is Jose but i prefer to be called J-T or RedSC, that being that jose is common beaner name lol I own a 1992 Red metalic sc300 with 134,000 miles. The car has an Injen intake, the 97' body upgrade, Tein type Flex coilovers, BBS Mesh rims, no name strutbar, HIDs, JDM sidemark lights, Window visors and other extras. The thing is that my car has a horrible take off because it's automatic and weighing 3,500lbs doesn't help out either. So i'm planning on doing a 5spd swap but idk which tranny to use, if it's been done, the results, any custom work involved? So yea, if anyone could pass the link where i can find info on 5spd swap, i'd appreciate it. A dude on myspace told me he did a 5spd swap on his sc300 and that CL had all the info on it. So yea, any help would be appreciated.

i just did my swap about a week and a half ago...that slidestyle is very good. I had a friend who did his own help me out. but it really isn't that bad of an install...just make sure you have all the necessary parts before you start.

Yes welcome to CL! I agree that searching will turn up a boat load of threads, at this moment there is a W58 (5 Speed that the SC is equipped with) and a R154 swap available in the Sc300/400 Classifieds.

lol, i like my name it's just that almost everyone has it so i prefer a nickname, but yea after a couple days on here i'm finding out i know alot of people on here from myspace, like baoser for example is on my friend list, but yea how is your sc doing now with the freshly swapped 5spd?? is the take off better??
