Steve, any chance producing your kit for cheap so the public can do what you did instead paying $2,500 for a set of headers?
We'd see a lot more boosted four-hundos if you could do that. So many cheap high mile 400s just laying around in so cal.

THREAD REVIVAL LOL ...Yeah so I have a XS Turbo Kit for a sc300 at home, but I have a 98 SC400 and was going to buy another sc300 for about $2000-3000. Today I just figured why not just use that kit on my 400. I am really new to the turbo scene, so I figured I can't use the turbo manifold and I have do a "Stock driver side header merged to custom passenger "Custom Saxophone" and become 2.5" to the turbo"? How much would something like that cost? Has anyone produced one since this build? What else would I need? I have the XS Turbo T-61, Intercooler, Oil Feed, Wastegate, HKS SSQV, Intake, and an AEM FIC 8..thanks

Custom Saxophone! I love that name and thanks for mentioning it. LOL. From what I know as of now, there's no 2nd kit been made yet. The T-61 is a good match for the SC400. If you need more info on this, P.M. me.

Steve check the link you have on the front page of this thread to your whole project on Lextreme. It connects us to a 2 post thread that has nothing to do with your build thread.

And Steve will be in the food lines, the poor house, broke and destitute!!

He would be lucky to sell (5) sets in 5 years...

Thanks to Ryan for pointing out the bad link. That was because Lextreme site crashed and and the link was changed. I'm having a hard time locating that link also.

For those fellows that would like to see some pictures of the revised build, I'm sorry that I lost the pictures that show both manifolds on the engine.

And I'll be extremely lucky to be able to sell 2 kits in 5 years. Maybe I can sell my labor for food. LOL.

did you pull the motor to design the custom manifold? Where did you get your oil feed from? Also, were you able to retain AC and PS? And where in the system did you run the MAF?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm curious... Awesome build btw, it appears very clean for being done at home.

No. The first kit was done while inside the engine bay. Bad idea. It's very hard to build with the engine inside. Lol. The 2nd kit was made when the engine was outside. It's much easier. I'm not going through the 2nd kit yet. I'll create another thread just for it. Stay tuned.

The oil feed was screwed into 1 of the 2 allen screws on the oil filter housing. I drilled and made a thread out of it.

The AC and PS are kept.

The MAF is in near its original place on the intake pipe.
