Default Toyota Chaser?

Ok, I found a Toyota Chaser 1jz gte engine local, I wanted to know is it swappable in a Sc300? I've searched and noone has given a certiied answer, or I dont even see any threads with anyone with the engine in their car? Is it possible, does the same apply as the supra 1jz gte engine? Just extend wiring ?

The Chaser is front sump. The oil pan and sump woud need to be swapped from your stock motor since the SC uses a mid-rear sump location.

If the engine you have found includes a factory 5MT, you have struck gold since the Chaser R154 is identical to the Soarer R154.

Aside from the oil sump location, you will have some wiring on your hands; but, that is expected with any engine swap.

If your goals are below 400whp, then the stock transmission you have will be suitable; but, if you intend to push the motor, the stock trans from the R154 is significantly more stout.

i have the chaser 1j in my sc, swapped the oilpans with my 2jzge and drilled out and tapped the hole for the turbo oil returnlines. as someone said before, the bodyplugs are diffrent, it wasn't hard to figure out the wiring, but i do work on cars everyday. some other things you need are your old dipstick and dipstick tube. the 1jz's did not have an oil level sensor so you can either use the block off plate off of the midsump pan or you can just use your old sensor, but you will have to make your own harness to the body harness for it to work. i used my stock w58 with a fidanza alum lightweight flywheel and a centerforce dual friction clutch.

ya no prob. the wiring is the tricky part, i think finding the power wire for the injectors was the hardest part, i had everything hooked up the engine was cranking but there was no fuel. i'm pretty sure the wire was brown but i'm not too sure, plus toyota wiring can be tricky as the colors changed prettymuch every year. the ecm wire pinouts for the soarer and chaser are the same, i know there are several pinouts floating around the net and as long as you have that and an engine wiring diagram for your sc you should be set. oh ya don't forget about a multimeter

Default chaser info

Found these on toyomods online as audin2r did. Hopefully this will help all in the future.

Here are the wiring diagrams. More to come. Please add any information that may help.

please check the other thread, they seem to be working there or just pm me your email and i will send them over to you.

Sorry about that, here you go.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=chaser+swap

We all know its a more difficult swap, but this should be the info to get others motivated or to get them done, i am in the middle of doing mine with a friend, may send to dr tweak, does he give clublexus people discounts? I have two i am going to attempt to do in the next few weeks.

Hopefully this will become a common swap, as the soarer engine sets are harder and harder to come by.
