Default sc400 coolant temp sensor

where exactly is the coolat temp sensor on the sc400? my friends' car has a check engine light that threw a coolant temp sensor light. his car has also been running really rough for the past few months. have replaced just about everything on his car and we want to replace the coolant temmp sensor.

do you guys think the coolant temp sensor can throw off a car's drivability that badly? where you floor it in neutral and there is a rev liimter of around 5200 rpm and the car hesitates when you floor it.

thanks for any help

we've replaced the maf, fuel pump, igniters and all plugs/wires

Coolant temp sensor is located at the top/front of the engine. You have to remove the plastic cover and it is basically top/front center.
