Default Rough idle, Coolant leak between valve covers SC300

I have a '92 SC300 that is idling rough. Coolant was low so I looked for a leak. There was a small puddle on the ground and I see coolant in between the valve covers with the cylinder head rear cover off. I can't tell where it is coming from. 201K miles, oil dipstick does not appear milky. I read a head gasket would not leak outside the engine. Is this true? No CEL and temp guage has been no higher than horizontal. Any help appreciated.

Is the coolant leak at the rear of the valve covers?

Might be your two heater hoses up against the firewall could have leaked onto the covers, or rear of the motor.

Default sc300 Coolant leak

Thanks the dealership tech forgot to reconnect the coolant bypass hoses on the rear of the eng. It now has a miss as well. It now has a miss, would the coolant have fouled the plugs? The coolant reservoir was empty.

Have the dealer replace it since it is their fault. That is totally unacceptable as the engine may have overheated.

What was the dealer doing to have those off?
