1JZ into SC300 motor mount help
Hey guys,
I am in the process of swapping a 1jz into my 92 sc300. Got a single turbo kit already installed on the motor, FMIC, etc. Well the problem I have is the passenger side motor mount is about 4 inches from the hole it needs to drop in. We have tried everything, jacking up the tranny, pushing it, etc. and we cannot seem to find the trick to getting this thing in. The valve cover hits the firewall so we cant push it far enough back to get the mount to go in. My buddy who is helping me do the swap isn't exactly a newbie to this either. He just got finished with a 305 in a early 80's RX7 project lol.
Thanks for any help,
Matt

Its a pain in the ***, I did that **** by myself and it took 3 days because i got pissed and gave up for a day. Only thing i can suggest is to stand in your engine bay and pull like a ***** lol.

mine was kind of hard, the way i did it was my front end was on jack stands at the lowest setting. the engine was angled up toward the front.. and then as I lowered it you start to even out the angle so it starts to level and this alone wasn't enough so I carefully placed a jack under the tranny and leveled it a little better. then lower the engine into place with a little man juice and lower the tranny so that everything is going in leveled. the more that everything is leveled the easier it moves back into place and youll still have to man handle it.

Big pry bar helps alot along with an extra set of hands. I have the same problem with a few of my cars. I usually just stick a jack under the trans and jack it up to get it level.
