Default Opinions on Replacing 02 Sensors

I am planning on replacing all four oxygen sensors. Wanted to hear what you guys think about using the Denso universal 02 sensors that you have to cut and splice the wiring. Any cons with doing this other than cutting the factory wiring. Will the sensors work just as well as a new oem lexus 02 sensor from the dealer or is it better to just get them from the dealer. I have no problem cutting into the factory wiring. Just want to know what you guys think..

I think I used the Walker Universals since they were much cheaper.

Works like a charm!

I know that two of the wires power the sensor to heat it up, and the other two send the data back to the ECU (or something like that). I'd guess the fifth wire links back to the #1 and #2 sensors, since #3 checks to see if they are working correctly.

BTW the repair manual specification for tightening the sub-o2 sensor is 13 ft lbf. The main ones are 33 ft lbf.

Here's a screenshot from the book. I couldn't really find anything else obvious about the wire except this.

Well replacing my pre-cat O2 sensor was well worth the money.
It fixed the problems I was having. CEL and it ran like crapp in the low RPM range.

For the record It was a Denso Universal 4 wire. about $50 online.

Yep, easy to back test the old sensors by watching the 1v ref line go to the max when you put an (unlit) propane torch over the head of the sensor.

Denso is who toyota uses for factory O2 sensors, youll have no issue using the universal denso's. Just make sure you have the wires matched up correctly, insulate them from each other and solder them if possible.
