Default 12 MPG!! I got a plan. Anything else?

I bought the sc300 2 months ago and it has been ranging from 12 to 14 MPG which is insane. Finally, i have sme time to take a look at it. I'm planning on changing the plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, coolant, tire pressure, air filter and transmission fluid, of course i'm going to check compression
do you guys recommend anything else, or have you found something in particular to be the reason of poor millage in sc's? thnx in advance.

Damn on a 98 with low miles. I would go ahead and do spark plug wires as well, dist. cap and rotor, seafoam (search for it on here), make sure you fill up with premium gas also.

I've got a 98 SC and I don't have a distributor. I think we have a coil on plug distributorless system.

The seafoam and air filter are probably gonna make the biggest difference. I just did mine the other day and the car is running even better and it stopped drinking gas!! I still have to do the plugs, wires, caps and fuel filter but im leaving the fuel filter to a shop since i hear its a pain in the ***.

There is no distributor for VVT-i engines.

Are there performance coil packs for these cars (sc400/300)? I'm also getting crappy gas milage on my sc400. 12-15 city if i am lucky. I have a nice 5 mile commute to work now though. I've seafoamed all 3 spots, (gas, oil, break booster), changed plugs, changed air filter and have done all the other work. The only thing left are the O2 sensors.
