ticking noise

Default ticking noise

heyy guys i tried searching this time and i failed, but heres my question, when i drive for about 10 minutes then shut off my car and i hear a ticking noise from underneath my car. my friend says its my oil pan or something but i dont know what hes talking about. its a loud ticking noise and it goes for a while.

Agreed

Is it a ticking sound or more like a crackling sound like when your frying bacon at a low temp? I ask because if its the second choice, it might be soon time to replace the cat.
