fmic piping ?
I was looking to install a fmic on my 1j sc and was wondering what size piping would work the best. I have a greddy boost controller and plan on running 14psi.

I got 3" piping, with a 3" core IC, so I don't have to upgrade when I go single.

Why the different sizes? or was it just stuff you pieced together. Like get a ebay set of piping. Really cheap just as good aluminum is aluminum. And weld as much of it as you can so you dont have to worry about couplings poping of and crap

I've got 2.5 pre I/C and 3 post I/C

2.5 pre IC is ideal, helps cut down a tiny bit on turbo lag, 3" to throttle body is ideal....once the air goes through the IC you want as much air as possible to go to your TB....i have 3" all the way, from turbo to tb....if i was you i would weld all your piping together as much as possible....

mines steel...not aluminum.....polished steel

Aluminum is easy just get a tig wleder. I mean if you dont know how to weld you can do it enough to get the job done just wont look as clean.

There is no universal size. Just because someone is running (x) size doesn't mean it'll fit your application.
It depends on your turbo outlet size. If it's a 2.5'' outlet you wouldn't want to run anything smaller than that diameter. And on the cold side you might want to something close to the TB size, but no larger. Just think about what would cause restrictions and hurt flow. And also remember larger diameter piping will create lag. |
