5MT used a 4.08.
SC300 A/T used a 4.27.
SC400 A/T used a 3.92 until 97.
SC400 A/T used a 3.26 from 98-00.

I had 4.27 then went with 4.08 lsd, You will zipping through gears, I would say 4.08 would be a better combo. Still gives you good launch and a nice top end.

would you say the 4.27 is too hard to launch with the 5 spd or is crusing rpm's to high.

I rebuilt an SC300 A/T Diff with the 4.27 gears to include a Torsen LSD for my SC400 (stock 3.92 ratio).

The car really rips. The 4.27 LSD alone took 0.4s from my 0-60 and 45-65 times. In general, the car feels 300lbs lighter. It is much more peppy off the line.

3k rpm in top gear is at ~75mph on the highway, and the engine would redline out at 149 in top gear: I'd say that is still plenty fast.

Fuel economy has not appeared to be significantly different as the tach still lives under 3k rpm during 95% of the time I am in the car.
