Alternator Woes...
My alternator just took a dump on me and I've been trying to figure out what alternator I need to order.
My local auto shops want $180 + $105 core charge for a reman. alternator that they have to order in. So I was looking on eBay, but I am finding many different alternators.
What alternators are compatible?
What alternator do I need? My car is a 1994 SC300.
100amp 92-94 SC300

80amp 95-96 SC300

180amp 94-98 Supra

90amp 94-98 Supra

I'm so confused......
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an alternator from a 1997 SC300 w/ about 50k miles. I was just about to take some pictures of it (well, tomorrow, that is), and put it in the classifieds. Your '94 would have had an 80 amp alternator from the factory, and the '97s also had an 80 amp. It will bolt up to your '94.
I've had it tested at both Autozone and Kragen and it passed their tests w/ no prob.
Shoot me a PM or email if you're interested.
Good luck either way.

I ended up buying the 100amp alternator on eBay for $125. I wasn't getting much info on the forums about which alternator I needed, so I just went w/ the one that fit the years of my car.
I couldn't wait too long b/c the SC is my DD.
Thanks for offering to help though.
