Default 97 SC300 w/USDM 2JZ-GTE and V160 <Speedometer Question?>

Folks had a question...

A 97 sc3OO with a usdm 2jz-gte w/v160 swap and his speedometer follows the revs from the tach when the car is driven fast/hard. Basically if you rev the car up... the Tachometer goes up but the speedometer follows even though your sitting still....

Any suggestions, or comments on what the issue could be?

Thanks!

Was it previously an automatic? Could be wiring issues.

Maybe this thread is of help: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=284613

all you have to do is find your tach wire .i will try to get the pinout for you

Edit: on ik1 bodyplug the wires are on pin 6 and pin 7 ,cheack and see if those are pinned on the gte harness

Sc250,

I received the pdf file you sent me yesterday, but it DOES NOT tell you where the IK type plugs are or what the details of the plugs are it just gives you the schemetics of wiring. Do you have any other electrical diagrams for the sc? I'm stumbled and frusterated.

All I need is the full electrical diagram that shows the actual plug and what each plug represents.

Val, the IK plugs are above the right kick panel. The 1 link
shows the plug in hand.

Sounds like the tach & speedo are spliced to gether by accident.

Supra Dr;

Thank you for responding, finally someone that can help me!

I traced the 2 wires from IK1 one is a solid red on pin 6 and one is a solid blue with red tracer on pin 7 and I traced them all the way up to the gte harness and they are exactly as they should be, connected to the same two wires from the gte harness. Now i'm wondering if there is an issue with the wiring behind the cluster. Would that be where the tach and speedo wires come together?

Sounds like the tach & speedo are spliced to gether by accident.

Well the speedo only goes crazy while driving, if your sitting still and you rev the engine up; the speedo stays at zero. But while driving the speedo needle is bouncing all over the place; at times it reads accurate, but if you hammer it then it goes all outta wack.

Also thanks to sc250tt for the schematic.
