I know this has been talked about before, the weight for the in-trunk c.d. changer on a 95 sc400 with nach. sys. is 9.2 lbs. If ultimate weight savings is your goal, then programn in some good radio stations, and lose the weight.

Thanks for that input and i assume you had to remove your cd changer in order to weigh it correct? if so how do you go about removing it? mine is jammed and won't eject after hitting the eject button i think im going to yank it then take it apart.

peel back the trunk carpet and start looking for bolts associated with the mounting bracket for the changer. Once you have the carpet back, the bolts should jump out at you.

Yes its easy to remove, as blizzy says, also there are 2 plugs on the quarter panel side, you have to depress relief clips on each plug and pull down on them.

Thanks guys i ended up ripping it out before i got information from you guys. My changer doesn't work like i said so yanked it out ripped out the cartridge to get out the cds then junked the thing. Im now in the market for a replacement.

The radio in my SC sounds like crap, but the cd's in the changer sounds great!! I would go insane without my changer right now.

If your worried about 9lbs in your SC then you need to get a "lighter car". j/k

Ive never used my c.d. changer, but it sounds like I should give it a try. 10 LBS in enough places makes 100. Hate to sell the Lex. at a loss after investing money already, and it is a great car. Fine Japaneese rolling stock.
