Does anyone know if the SC300 and the first gen GS share the same tranny?

Default Does anyone know if the SC300 and the first gen GS share the same tranny?

Well, the reason I'm asking is because the tranny on my first gen GS went out this past weekend. I have access to an SC300 for parts and was wondering if I could use the tranny from it. Let me know!

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply!

If that's the case and I can't source a decent first gen GS transmission then I'm going to go ahead and give some serious consideration to getting an SC400.

We'll see.

I thought the 92-98 SC300 (4spd) shared the same tranny as the 1st gen GS300?? Both trannys are the A340E tranny, unless I've mistakened?

I thought they were the same as well, up to the 95 gs. 96-97 had the 5 speed autos.

theoretically they are the same, but the electrical connectors are different, so that is the issue.

I'm going to have to move this transmission question to the transmission forum.
