Default sc400 idling at 3k rpm

When I drove my car today, it started fine. I usually put my car in neutral when at a stop light, when I did I notice the rpms were at 3K!!! I checked for vacuum leak and everything seems ok. It might be a huge vacuum leak to cause it to idle at 3k. So I'm thinking it might be the EGR pipe I read that they tend to crack. Does anybody had this problem before?

Sounds engine related.

Moved.

I've had this problem in my SC300, so I'll share to see if it helps you in the right direction ....

On mine (-GTE engine), I had this prob when the screw for the idle adjustment (on the throttlebody) came loose. Causes the car to idle really high all of the time even when stopped. Just fix that (and maybe readjust your TPS).

Hope that helps.
