yea....i did it guys.

well guy's i have a confession to make. i went to a great friend of mine's shop on my lunch break about 30 min ago. looking for a 1jz Soarer swap ( for some reason other importers always send supra 1j to me!! uurghgh!!:thumbdn:) and we were dicussing power and install time and getting the best bang for the buck. 10 min after that im signing the proof of purchase for a JDM 2jz-gte! i dont know what came over me but i just said "****** it, either go big or go home!!"

So, now i have to hit the search and see what it takes for Deloria to psst into the night...

well done. You are going to have a rocket ship on your hands in no time.

Turbology 06-22-07 01:37 PM

Hell yeah! Getting all the TT rear end pieces is expensive but worth every penny. I suggest you read these...

i really just want to get moderate HP with this car. ill beef up the rear some but it will never be a dyno/trailer queen. VIP style with some nastyness'

around 400-500 hp

o yea, i forgot to mention. my car is already 5 speed original so hopefully this will be a easy swap and my w58 will be up to the task. this is gonna be fun, i hope....

Turbology 06-22-07 02:07 PM

Cool, I just know that if I did that swap, 500hp would soon be "not enough."
:D

The Supra Forums links are more helpful information on doing the actual swap than how to make crazy power.
:)

plex 06-22-07 02:08 PM

Congrats......let the fun begin

Baoser 06-22-07 02:15 PM

congrats, hope it didnt burn a giant hole in the pocket hehe

Answer300 06-22-07 02:16 PM

i decided to do this because i get the run around from too many importers that think they have Soarer swaps when they have JZX90's and A70's!! i paid 750 for my 1jz i have right now and i was gonna go with a clip but NOW you can get a STD eating fried chicken before you get a clip~!!!

Answer300 06-22-07 02:18 PM

2300 bucks, but only 23,452 miles! no cuts, all the sensors and.......A IGNITOR!!! ooohhhhh!!!

Turbology 06-22-07 02:21 PM

Dang great deal! I'm assuming it was the motor only and no V160?

Answer300 06-22-07 02:27 PM

it came automatic. not modified at all so i felt comfortable buying it:)

I would also read what DIrEctQL has done.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/members/2051-directql.html

He has a 97 SC300 that has a JDM 2JZ, single turbo, autotrans....
This was one of the few cars ever to make me go "Wow!!"

He's swapping a 6spd in now.
He's a busy guy, so read what he has done before barraging him with questions.

Good find!!

Answer300 06-25-07 08:43 AM

overall, i think it will be a short distance to net 400-450 hp on basic bolt-ons. downpipe, front mount, boost controller, AFC, exhaust, injectors, cams, c. gears, etc...
i could go the 8-900 range but lets be for real..am i really going to use that kind of power on a daily basis? hell no!!

VGnomore 06-25-07 01:06 PM

Not with the ceramic stock turbos. Go usdm turbo or better yet go single....but I guess I am bias. Enjoy the swap.
