Default My Temp Gauge smokes crack.

I was driving around during my lunch break and all of the sudden my temp gauge is at the top passed the red. I ****ing went nutts and pulled over and looked down and it was a bit below half... I gave it some gas and it started going back up really slow, so I stopped and it went back down. I thought driving it a bit would cool it down but it kept going all the way up, then suddenly drop to a bit below half. I just installed a Fluydine Radiator and I know for a fact my coolant system is good. Wtf... Anyone have this problem? it Scares me to drive the SC.. its only 92 freaking degrees out here...

If you gave it gas and it went back up, your coolant system is NOT good. You might want to check for obstructions and see if the water pump is operating correctly. Sounds like the thermostat is randomly sticking.

That what I was thinking. Finally on the drive back to base the temp gauge was in its normal spot. Because of the repeated taps to the redline I'm wondering if I did any damage to the motor. I installed the Radiator, put in fresh coolant and a bottle of Redline water wetter. Did the usual, got it running till it circulated, and added water until it was at the top running. Shut it down and let it cool off a bit to make sure the level didn't drop back down again. So yea... I dunno?

im pretty sure that you need to have the radiator higher than the rest of the car so that all the air in the system goes to the top op the raidator.....

so put the car on ramps or an incline and then let the motor run with the resivoir cap off.....

i could be wrong though.....

Checked my fluid level... it was really low. Maybe the bottom hose was loose and pissed some of my coolant out. I guess I'll have to see what happens.

OOORRRRRR....... perhaps you had a big *** air bubble in there instead of coolant and that's why your thermostat was not opening!

(big flashing sign coming up)
