Default AC problem.

Yesterday I turned my air on. The AC button started blinking, and the air wasnt blowing cold. I turned it off, ...and when I turned it back on, ..it worked fine.

Did that twice yesterday, and didnt do it today.

???????

Didn't search blinking did ya?

I know of at least 12 times last year it was posted, and I'll save you this time and tell you to start hunting for a new compressor.

I am having the same problem with my a/c, blinking light on a/c control panel. What is the smartest way to go on a replacement compressor??

One from a junkyard is still going to be 15+ years old, how much life is left in that??
New one from a dealer is $$1300, they don't make rebuilt ones anymore for a 1992 LS 400, my car has 220K miles on it, doesn't make sense to spend that kind of money. Would it be wise to look into getting mine rebuilt??

One from Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Napa would be cheaper. Maybe that is the way to go. It was 100 degrees today in CA and driving around in CA is unbearable!!

Any suggestions would be EXTREMELY appreciated.
