I recently pulled the motor and tranny from my SC400. Comes out from the top. You will need to disconnect all accessories, hoses, tubes, wires, etc. The cover over the ECU is in the footbed of the passenger side of the car under the carpet. You will need to pull the carpet back, remove the screws and the cover, then unplug all of the harnesses. Once you have done that, make sure you have removed the hood, and then you can jack up the engine and lift it out. Obviously, you will have to disconnect the engine mounts, and the tranny, if you are not removing it along with the engine.

Good luck.
