car ran out of oil. i'm not an idiot but i feel like one right now. we checked oil last week cause the oil light was sort of flickering ocasionaly. however, it had oil then went to return some movies and on the way home started knocking and died on me got it restarted then got home and sounds like a truck and you feel it taping on the valve cover. i'm wondering if it's something in the head (the car that is). maybe a valve or the rockers. there was never anything leaking on my driveway, but now there is oil all underneath the car. maybe the rear main seal. i really don't know these are just all suggestions that friends have made. SHOULD I JUST SWAP IN A 1JZ AND IS THAT RELIABLE, i.e. a/c, power steering gauges and sensors working correctly. Oh yeah and there is the difficulty question. someone come to this sc's rescue...

yup ur engine is gone, that my friend is Rod Knock to the highest extreme. An no the 1 JZ is not as reliable actually any turbo engine brings more headaches.

get a 1J or get a 2JZGE for cheap.
