Backyard Mechanics?

Hey, I'm wondering, since this is the performance section, how many people in here actually work on their own cars, and don't take it to a shop?

I always try and fix a problem or work on my vehicles myself- If its something i cant fix or something to complicated ill bring it in to a trust worthy shop- but other than that-

I do most of my own work, except when I need some special air tools or a lift. Then I take it to 104th Street Auto! (Aliga's brother).

The only reason's why I would take my car to a shop:

1) I'm 300 miles away from anyone with the tools necessary to make a repair
2) I don't have the equipment to clean the block, grind the cams, etc.
3) I have billions of dollars and drive a McLaren F1; and thus forced to take the car to a McLaren tech.

Same here, do most of my own stuff. But when it gets too advanced, I take to to my brothers.
