Default Need A MAF For My 1992 SC400

Hello everybody. I just purchased a 1992, SANDSTONE BEIGE, SC400. The Mass Airflow Sensor died and the car is running very lean. I found one at a junk yard but it did not work and then I purchased one from directautoparts.com and that one is also dead.

Does anybody know where I can get a Mass Airflow Sensor for the car without going to the dealer who wants over $1000 for the part? It seems to be a very difficult part to find.

Wait if the car is running lean wouldnt that be a good thing? I thought the leaner it runs the better the gas mileage?

It runs lean to the point where you have no power and the idle speed varies all over the place from just about stalling to revving up a little and then falling back. The car is basically not drivable and runs a little better, though very rich, with the connector to the maf removed.

Does anyone know where the grounding point is for the MAF? I didn't have any MAF problems until I used some MAF cleaner on it an 2 screws went missing during the process. I replaced them with non OEM screws and had 1 original screw. I also put dielectric grease in the connector to keep moisture and corrosion out. I get a constant code 31 now though.

uhm...think about it. what are the chances that 3 different MAf sensors not working in the same car? i say look for the problem somewhere else. probably wiring issue.

Ok update: it only throws a CEL right after I start the car, then it goes away? I'm completely confused.
