Default What could I have done wrong!!!! Timing belt

I was changing timing belt/tensioner/bearing/water pump on a 1996 sc400. I aligned all the marks and made sure everything was in place. Started the car up, ran fine for 2 min. I decided to go around for a spin, as soon as I start leaving the drive way the car starts stuttering and driving like poo and check engine light came on. Now.... is this a symptom of setting the timing wrong? dist. rotors are not aligned right? I need to know ASAP.

Never will I perform a DIY timing belt on anything more than 4cyl.

Check the codes-- You may just find your problem by disconnecting one or the other coil wires from either/or distributor--- If I'm right, one will cause no change in the poor running, indicating a problem with ignition on that side, then work your way back from there-- could be a cam sensor with a bad connection, a coil that decided to go bad precisely when you decided to change the belt, or other things I can't think of right now, but you get the idea......

I rented a scanner from autozone, it is saying cam shaft position sensor bank1. Which sensor is this left or right?

hmmm-- that I don't know-- BUT-- planetsoarer and lextreme both have very good tech articles that will probably answer your question--

Here's a blowup of all the components:

Here's Lextreme's tech article page: (awesome site- bookmark it!)

Here's a writeup: (but this car is the Jspec active suspension car- maybe different)

why would you buy cam sensors when the code says "crank sensor" ???????

Secondly, you may be able to get a good crank sensor from aliga for a seriously good price-- he's the man-- really- he's the man--

Sorry it was a CAM SHAFT SENSOR!

Now i talked to a few people they are telling me that the cam sensor could be set of due to timing being off, teeth not being placed right.
