Being as warm as it is here, it doesn't take long for the temp to get up. I just try to take it easy for the first few miles. During the winter, I warm it up for about a minute, then drive slowly for a few miles to get5 up to normal operating temp.

30 seconds and I keep the rpm's under 3k until the temps are normal.

My diesel truck I don't warm up at all...start it up and put it in Drive.

But then again I use mobile 1 in EVERYTHING!

Perfect way to time it I will usually get it running after I get out of the shower in the morning, takes me a couple min to get dressed and I'm out. Also remember, if you let it warm up to temp sitting there, yes the water temp is up but your tranny and breaks ect. are still cold so don't go mashing it. Just drive and keep it under 3k

I let it warm up for like a minute then take it for a nice easy boost, that makes it get warm really really fast .

I start driving right away but do not push it until the temp gets to the middle. I want the tranny and engine to get up to temperature before pushing it. That way all the engine and transmission clearances will be normalized also.

about 2mins, then have the foot ever so slightly on the gas till the end of the street (400m 1/4 mile) and dont take it over 2000rpm till she's operating temp.

come to think about it i don't take it much over 2500 anyway!!!!

turn the car on and go is what i do now. i used to wait a minimum of around 5 minutes before i drove off because i thought it was best to let the rpms get to it's coldest point but then i noticed my car chugged a lot more gas that way
