ok fellas some of you have seen my threads on the buildup of my car, recently i made a post about the badluck with clutches i have been having. these times are allllll over. i just bought a 6 speed getrag from a member of the supra forums and its now on its way. im going to freshen up the trans to be sure its bulletproof because im shooting for 1000 rwhp. i miss my supra and its 704 whp it had but now i want more from my sc300. there are a few of you out there that have done this swap please give me any feedback you can remember from the install. also if you have not installed one of these but have heard things about the install let me know. i have been heavily researching the install of the v160 and know some of the ins and outs from using the search button multiple times, but, am looking for input from others on maby something i forgot possibly.
please give all you have guys AND YES I DID SEARCH BUT AM LOOKING FOR MORE OPINIONS AND INPUT!

this swap is a 95 sc300 5 speed and swaping from a w58 to a v160.

Things needed
1 extended rear section of driveshaft
2 6 speed rear end and left axle
3 getrag clutch flywheel and pres plate
if i think of any thing else will post.

I wasn't aware that you needed the supra rear end, and why only the left axle?

There are probably a million places you can find the grocery list of items that you need...but anyways..another quick overview of the main components.

-Toyota/Lexus driveshaft w/4 bolt flange (I believe these are only out of the 6spd?), extended
-Pretty much any SC300/400, Supra NA or TT Rear End - (depending on what gear ratio and how much you are willing to spend). The 6spd diff is best (usually $1200+ if you can find a used one), and 3.16 ratio if I recall correctly...but you can also get a JDM Supra 3.26 diff (no idea of $) or the cheapest route...use a 98+ SC/GS400 3.26 diff (usually $400). This is all assuming you don't want some rediculous 4.0+ gearing...

FWIW, you'll never find a clutch that holds 1000wrhp using the OEM slave cylinder, release fork, and a single disk. You'll need multi-disk clutch to meet your power goals, and they typically come with a hydraulic release bearing specifically designed for the manufacturers multi-disk clutch system.

I believe Tilton is the main one using the hydraulic set-up. The RPS CC uses oem and can handle 1k.

Ahh... agreed. It would seem bens sc has narrowed his clutch choice to one set up.

i was looking at the tilton closely, im ready to make changes to the clutch system just to be sure i can hold the power im looking for if necessary. im just so fed up with breaking clutches and not being able to run more power, its frustrating. i have been on the supra forums checking out posts on what has been run and it has been very overwhelming with info so im gonna keep looking.
please guys keep any info coming i need all the leads to doing research i can get !!
